Audit Manager

Responsibilities

Plan and lead audit engagements, including risk assessment, audit strategy development, and resource allocation.
Perform detailed audit procedures, including testing internal controls, substantive testing, and analytical procedures.
Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of clients’ internal controls and accounting systems.
Be aware of core risk assessment processes, key entity and industry background, and understand how this impacts the work performed.
Address client concerns and queries promptly and effectively.
Provide recommendations for improvements based on audit results.
Supervise and mentor junior staff and interns, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
Review and provide constructive feedback on work papers, schedules, and reports prepared by junior staff.
Ensure team members are following auditing standards and firm policies.
Collaborate with other team members to complete audit tasks efficiently and effectively.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
4+ years of work experience in a related field, such as finance, audit, public or private accounting.
In-depth understanding of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
Extensive knowledge of Mongolia’s financial reporting and tax laws, standards and regulations.
Certification such as ACCA or similar qualifications is highly favorable.
Strong analytical skills with a high commitment to quality client service.
Mature, proactive, and an ability to work effectively in teams.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Superior written and oral communication skills in both English and Mongolian, including technical and business writing, documentation, and presentation skills.
Excellent skills with using computer applications, such as Excel and other analytics tools.

Responsibilities

Assist in the planning and preparation of audit assignments.
Perform audit procedures in accordance with the audit plan, including testing and sampling of transactions.
Document audit findings and prepare workpapers in a clear and concise manner.
Prepare draft audit reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
Maintain detailed records of audit procedures performed, evidence obtained, and conclusions reached.
Review and verify the accuracy of working papers and documentation.
Archive audit files.
Identify and address any issues or discrepancies in the audit process.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
2+ years of work experience in public or private accounting is preferable.
Proven record of working productively in teams.
Highly detail oriented in analyzing financial data.
Possesses excellent communication and project management skills.
Savvy with Excel and its advanced data analysis tools.
Bonus if you are a proactive problem solver, who keenly identifies and proposes solutions to problems in processes, workflows.
Bonus if you have previous experience working with IFRS standard financial statement reporting.
Strong English communication skills are a plus.
